Professional Development

Events Below are from Freshman Year

"How To Rock Your Behavioral Interview"

Led by Drew Neumeyer, Senior Director, Patient Experience at DaVita, Mays ’02 BBA, Wharton ’11 MBA

I attended a professional development event where the goal was to prepare the audience for our future behavioral interviews.  Truly, attending this event gave me incite and confidence in preparing and executing a behaviorally styled interview.  Now I know with my limited exposure in being a freshman in college, I still have relevant experiences that I can call utilize in the working business world.

"Mays 2017 Case Challenge"

Led by Kathrynn King-Metters

The Mays 2017 Case Challenge was a competitive development experience, where I was one of a four member team who placed 3rd. As a fully freshman team, we were able to effectively communicate an action plan for a struggling company. I learn a great deal from all the feed back I received from the judges. Each time I compete in a case competition like this one, I am better prepared for real world problems.

"Freshman Etiquette Dinner"

Led by Randi Mays Knapp

In attending an etiquette dinner, I received essential "manners training". I often forget how the smallest things matter to people. How not holding a fork right or shaking someones hand the right way can possible give the wrong impression. The dinner taught me knew piece of etiquette and reminded me of some.

"Wisdom Workshop: Case Interviews"

Led by Matthew Korioth ’17

Mathew led the workshop. He started out by asking us a case question and teaching us, there is never a wrong answer to a case question. In a case interview your future employer only really cares about your thought process. Matthew helped me understand how to format and present by analysis. He also taught us that it's not just about your analysis it's how you get to the analysis. After attending this event, I am now better prepared for case interviews.
